RCSB PDB Staff Page

Email Help Desks

The RCSB PDB maintains several help desks to answer inquiries about the resource. RCSB PDB staff members are available to assist depositors and users with questions about the PDB archive, Web and FTP sites.

Questions on medical matters, the biology of particular proteins, and detailed software advice are not within the scope of the RCSB PDB help service, though some of this information may be found in the RCSB PDB's lists of external links and educational resources.

All questions receive a response and most are answered within 1-2 working days. Depending on the nature of the inquiry and availability of staff, the response time may be a little longer..

Where to Mail Your Question

  • info@rcsb.org: general questions about using the PDB (Web and FTP), searching the PDB, bug reports, and suggestions. If you are reporting a bug please state which RCSB PDB site was used and provide any relevant information on your computer, the OS and browser.
  • deposit@deposit.rcsb.org: questions about structure deposition and processing, and structure updates.
  • help@deposit.rcsb.org: questions about ADIT, the structure deposition tool.

The RCSB PDB discussion group (pdb-l@rcsb.org) listserver is also available for questions and discussions with the PDB user community about protein structure, analysis, and related topics. Please note that you need to subscribe to this list.
